Now you might think that I watched him walk down that hallway to where we were.  No way.  I wouldn’t.  I couldn’t.
The next thing I knew, he was standing in front of me.  I was the first person in the line.  He shook my hand.  I just about died.  He
said something like, Hey how doing you tonight.  Sort of like Joey from “Friendsâ€, but with that southern drawl.  This
moment just went too quick.  I even forgot to look into his eyes.  I guess I was just too busy concentrating on not passing out and
keeping my cookies under control.  Surprisingly, I did do a good job on those two things.  I am so proud of myself.  So, I didn’t
look into his eyes, I can’t tell you what he wore, and I didn’t say anything to him, but at least I didn’t puke on him.
Sounds like a good first meeting to me.  I am so ready for June, now.
Our group picture was taken.  He signed an autograph for everyone in our group. While Kenny was signing autographs for the
other two girls, Renee talked me out of having him sign my barf bag.  It would have been cool to see his reaction to that.  Then again,
maybe not. Renee had a poem that she wrote about him.  She asked him to sign it, and she gave him a copy of it.  I had him sign a
picture that was given to us by the GM people.  A picture from his Greatest Hits album.  It’s the shot of him in the sweater,
with his head resting on his arm.  He was very soft spoken, quiet, and he smelled good.  At least my sense of smell and hearing were
working.
It took about 20-30 minutes for me to stop shaking.  I tried calling my husband, Steve, to tell him what had just happened.  The
phone at home was busy.  I tried a few times.  Then gave up and called his sister.  She couldn’t believe it. Neither could I.  I
talked to her while I paced in the lobby.  Eventually I got it together and finally made it to my seventh row seat.  Which as it turns
out, was exactly center stage.  Incredible.  What a view.
Sara’s part of the show was almost over.  She only did three songs while I was sitting there.  She did do a good job with those
songs though.  She sounded very good this time.  She was wearing better fitting clothes.  Meaning, she didn’t appear to be
pregnant this time.  Although, she still sat down.  What’s up with that?   I don’t get the sitting thing.  Especially, she’s
not out there for too long.
During the brief intermission, met up with Renee and Adele.  We talked about how long it took us to settle down.  Plus, how bad
we felt that we left Adele alone while we went to meet Kenny.  Then it was back to our seats.
Just before I knew Kenny was about to come out, I called Hotrod, from the fan club chatroom.  I knew he was about to come out
because they were playing that AC/DC song, “You Shook Me All Nightâ€.  I told her briefly about us meeting Kenny.  We
talked while the band took the stage.  Then when they started to play the music for “Youngâ€, I just held the phone up for her
to hear him.  She was so excited.
You know, I really don’t remember what song he played next, or in what order he sang stuff.  These are the songs that he did
sing, She’s Got It All,  Fall In Love, Don’t Happen Twice, I Lost It,  Back Where I Come From, What I Need To Do, Thatâ
€™s Why I’m Here, Live Those Songs Again (which will be his next single to be released some time next month), I’d Love
to Lay You Down, and Tush (the ZZ Top song that he recorded for the tribute album which will be released in May), a  medley of
When I Close My Eyes, Me and You, All I Need To Know, and You Had Me From Hello.  How Forever Feels was the last song
before the encore.  The encore consisted of, She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy, Georgia Satellites song, and Jack and Diane.  While
he sang Jack and Diane, the statue of liberty and old glory were displayed on the big screen. When he was done singing he signed
autographs on stage for 10 minutes.
I know you don’t really care what songs he sang, just as long as that Conway Twitty number was included in the song list.
What you really want to know is what he wore.  Well, let’s see if I can do his outfit justice.  Well for one, he wore his shirt
tucked.  Something he hasn’t really been doing lately.  He even had a belt on with denim blue Wranglers.  Not that he needed the
belt to hold them up.  They would have been able to do that just fine.  He looked really cute, though, with his tucked shirt and belt.
Then again, he always looks cute.  The shirt he wore was gray.  I guess he knew Kristin wouldn’t be at this show, and that it
would be okay for him to wear that color.  I heard he was saving the leather shirt for the Madison or Chicago shows next weekend.
The shirt had dark gray piping on it.  It was one of those sleeveless, western shirts he’s been favoring since last fall.  Do I have
to add that he looks really good in those shirts?
Well, I really enjoyed this show.  It was great being so close to the stage for once.  I was a little uncomfortable at first, but got
over it quick.  I stood up on my feet the whole show except for when he started with “Me and Youâ€.  I needed to change my
first roll of film.  I sat down to do this, since mostly everyone in front of me had sat, too.  Luckily that didn’t last too long, but I
got back up on my feet as soon as I was reloaded.  I went through five rolls of film.  You won’t believe this, but my pictures
actually came out good.  Whoo hoo.    I got good shots of everyone.
After the show, we waited by the buses hoping Kenny would come off to sign some autographs.  There was about 20 people
waiting.  At first, it wasn’t bad weather wise.  It seemed the longer we stood there, the colder it got.  We waited for over an
hour.  We waited until his bus pulled out.  Oh well, I don’t have much luck with the bus thing, but that’s okay.  We had a lot
fun waiting and chatting with other fans.
There is more to this story, though.  We left as soon as Kenny’s bus left.  Somehow, I managed to catch up to his bus on I-
91.  It was funny.  I thought I saw a bus way ahead of me on I-91.  So, I sped up a bit to see if it was his.  It did leave in the same
direction I was heading.  We were both going south.  If I were another person, I would have made them pull over and get him off that
bus, but that’s not me at all.  Eventually I passed the bus.  I figured once I turned off to I-95, that we would part ways, but we
didn’t.  They followed me.  They got off about 15 minutes after that, at exit 40.  Now that’s the end of the story.  I had a
nice drive home.  No ferry ride for the ride home.  They don’t run that late.  So, I had to go around the city, New York City, to
get back to Long Island.  All alone, with my memories of the concert, and what great memories they are, and my music blasting,
Kenny Chesney of course.
