I realize that everyone feels cheated that I didn’t write a detailed review of the trip to Warshington. The people I went and partied with are some of my biggest fans and usually ya’ll are the first to read my reviews. I really had a great time, from the moment that Jen and I got in the Limo, ah first class to the airport, until the time Jen and I both wound up passing out on the plane ride home before we even taxied to the runway. It still seems like yesterday, when Jen and I were in the Sea-Tac airport. I had just gotten off the phone with Donna; she was already at the luggage carousel. Jen and I were on the escalator, headed towards luggage claim when I spotted Kelly. I was so phreaking excited to see her. Eventually we went and found Donna with her luggage and pillow. Carol was still in the air at this time. Nae was still making her way to the airport after dropping Logan off at her mom’s. Thanks, by the way, to Nae’s mom and Kelly’s ex for watching their respective kids while us girls had some much-needed fun. Cause as you know, GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN. After Carol’s plane landed, it wasn’t long before the six PVBers were finally together. With that we made our way to the PVB pick-up site. For those of you who don’t already know, PVB stands for POSTITIVE VIBE BUS. Sort of like Kenny’s Positive Vibe Room. The PVB was actually a 27’ RV that we rented through cruise America. When we arrived at the rental place, we needed to watch a movie on how to operate everything. The smokers of the group delayed their arrival time, which was a good thing. I made them watch it when they finally came in from their nasty habit, and I got to watch that movie again. There was so much to learn, and me, I had never been camping before, yikes. Even though there was so much involved with the operation of the RV, it was definitely a plus while tailgating. It didn’t cost me 25¢ everytime I had to â €˜p’. Once we knew how to operate the dang thing it was on to the liquor store. Apparently, Nae and her KC obsession are real well known at this place. I promised to tell the guy at the store my KC stories, but I just didn’t have time. Maybe I should ask Nae for his e-mail address. This way I could e-mail a review a month to him. I’ll throw in the MG reviews for some diversity. I wouldn’t want to come across with a KC obsession, just like Nae’s. When we first left the RV place, Carol was the driver. After the liquor store, I felt confident enough to do some driving. Our next stop was the “grocery store.â€ What for? Beer! Oh and some food, too. Although most of the food we packed the PVB with we took from Nae’s house. When we were done with the “grocery storeâ€, we were finally on our way to the PH’N FARM, yee haw! I tried not to have any pre-conceived notions about the PH’N FARM. Nae tried to play it off as a dive, but it was actually quite nice. Her girls were there hanging out, and they are absolutely beautiful. Her daughter, Logan, and her husband weren’t there. It was just us girls. It was just so much fun to actually see in person the people that you talk to every day, by all different forms of communication. I’ve known Nae and Kelly for over 18 months now, Jen for almost two years, Donna for at least six months, and carol for a few months. People do find it strange that people from such diversified lifestyles and areas of the country can have something as simple as music, Kenny’s music specifically, draw them together and create such a tight bond. Some people have the misconception that we do all this traveling because Kenny is hot. Yeah, he is a hot. A lot of people think that we have unrealistic expectations, like we might just be the ONE that he’s looking for. Well, I sure hope that man does find what heâ €™s looking for, and soon, but that’s not it either. He is the reason we met in the first place, but it is so much bigger than he is or his music could ever be. We all respect him and thank him for the opportunity that he has given us to get to know one another. I don’t think he realizes the impact he has made on people’s lives. Okay, enough of the mushy stuff back at the farm. Naturally, Nae broke out the scratchy’s. For you youngin’s out there, before there was a thing called a CD (compact disc) there was vinyl. Somehow the tapes that were made at music studios were transferred to media known as vinyl. Nae and I both have quite the vinyl collection. When I originally wrote this out, I was in the secret meeting place, somewhere in Pennsylvania. I was waiting on Nikki and her friend Lisa so that we could make our journey to South Carolina to see the final weekend of the Margaritas and Senoritas tour. There was a very lengthy explanation of vinyl, 45â €™s, LP’s and such. Boy I am especially long winded when I’ve been drinking. Okay, back to Warshington. Our time on Nae’s farm was priceless. What memories I will always have with me, from Kelly and Donna dancing to the song “Oh Donnaâ€, but not Donny Osmond’s version to Nae’s dog Taylor trying to lick the sh!t out of me while I was doing sit-ups. And who can forget Donna not wanting to share her breakfast with Nae’s girls. Those girls should know that you had their eggs for breakfast the following morning. After our big party on Nae’s farm Thursday night, we eventually got on the road and headed towards our destination of Seaside Beach, Oregon. It was a beautiful ride from Nae’s to Seaside. I had Jen taking pictures on my camera since I was driving. The ride was a lot of fun. Once we got to the vicinity of the beach, the streets naturally got a lot narrower. It was a challenge trying to find a place to park the PVB. We got stuck in some parking lot. There wasn't enough room to make a turn with all the parked cars. Luckily, the owner of the car that was in the way of my turn came running back to move his car. I guess the advertisement on the side of the PVB saying ‘RENT ME’ scared him. He’s a smart man, a sharpie even. I was pretty scared myself at this point. Right after that, we found a lot for RV parking. Once parked, we headed towards the beach. Yeehaw, the Pacific Ocean. Naturally, I took lots of pictures. It didn’t take too long to find the Ocean. We all made our way into the water, well at least our feet went in the water. It was quite cold. Some of us enjoyed the swings more than the ocean. Carol and Kelly really seemed to enjoy getting into trouble on those things. Someone needed film, someone else had to ‘p’ and so we all headed back to the PVB. It was at this point that there seemed to be something wrong with Jen. We were trying to head back to the beach, but Jen kept spilling her drink inside the PVB. She kept blaming poor Carol for spilling it too. When she finally got her act together, and came out she was having a problem standing straight, and she still kept spilling her drink. At least this time it was on the ground and not in the PVB. Instead of actually going back to the water, we decided some food would be a good idea. Too much Jim Beam and not enough food was definitely taking a toll on my young friend. Donna and I found a nice place, Dundee’s. It took the other four girls a while to find out where Donna and I ducked into. When they finally found us, Jen made a BIG commotion coming in the door and then headed straight for the restroom. With that, our waitress walks over and whispers in my ear, “your friend that just walked in, the bartender has cut her off, we won’t be able to serve herâ€. Jen didn’t take the news too well. This was her first time being cut off. Jen, most people don’t get cut off. You are in a class all by yourself. When we were done eating, we never did make it back to the ocean. It was getting late, and we were hoping to make it to the KOA campground where we had reservations before nightfall. It was a valiant effort, but it didn’t happen. We got there as the sun was dropping out of the sky. Even though it was getting dark, Jen didn’t have too much of a problem getting everything hooked up and running properly. Although she did get a little help from our neighbor. Jen volunteered for sh!tter duty. Good thing, too, she was the only one who took notes during the movie and followed that up by reading through the whole travel guide that came with the RV. Not only did Jen do well with the hook ups; she also made a dang good campfire. We were still awaiting the arrival of the California girls, Sherri, Sylvia, and Jamie. They had gone to the show the day before and were still heading north to meet up with us. Unfortunately they got a bit lost (sorry, but why listen to me, I’m from the Northeast), and didn’t reach our campsite until sometime after 1 am I believe or even later. I couldn’t wait up for them anymore. When they finally did arrive, we needed to rearrange some of the sleeping arrangements. It was a six-sleeper RV, and with them, there was now nine of us. We brought an air mattress, which Nae, Jen, and Sylvia slept on outside the RV and no tent either. Just under the stars. They tortured poor Jen all night. None of Jen’s friends can believe that she slept outside. Sylvia and Nae protected Jen the best they could. They let her sleep in the middle. The next morning, which was the morning of the Ridgefield show, Nae and Donna made a great breakfast. It was really great being able to hook up and use the appliances that came with the RV. Since this was the only “realâ€ campsite we would be at all weekend, it was great that we got to take advantage of it. After everyone ate, it was time for Jen to unhook the PVB and all the modern conveniences. At this point, we decided to head back to the beach, so that the California girls could see it. What another pain it was to park that dang RV. We parked in a totally different place this time, since the RV lot was full, since it was now Saturday, and the beach was a lot busier than it was on Friday. It was a longer walk to the beach this time but that was a good thing. We came across this alleyway where there was a train ride. I believe it was meant for kids, but that didn’t stop Nae, Sylvia and myself from climbing aboard. Then again, maybe it wasn’t just for kids, since they didn’t seem to have a problem taking our money. The ride was supposed to be for only four laps. We got double that at least. I do believe the conductor was just trying to pick Nae up. That train ride was a lot of fun. The little kids and their parents just thought we were all nuts (yeah, I know, I said the word nuts). We eventually made it to the water. We got to take all the pictures we wanted. The two best were the foot shot and the group picture, which was taken by a stranger that Carol, approached. I’m definitely glad we made the effort to go back to the beach. Lots of memories were made there. |
